In August of 2017, this team traveled to the hottest town in Japan, Hita. Located near the Kumamoto Prefecture, the area suffered from a massive earthquake. Many lives were lost, structures damaged and destroyed, and countless lives affected and displaced.
The heat and humidity made the work much more strenuous. Joining in with local volunteers, the team cleared out mud from homes, made friends with local residents, and offered support and encouragement.
After working in Hita, the team traveled to Kumamoto city to work in affected areas.
